Year 10 D&T
After a term of learning about metals, where they are found, how they are extracted, refined and processed (including casting), the y10 took the opportunity to try casting for themselves.
They explored casting methods that involved hand pressed and carved moulds compared to CAD moulds that were prepared on the laser cutter. It was clear to their developing eye that CAD is an improved method of manufacturing, even with one off casts compare to hand pressing and carving methods!
