Womens Fa cup final

Man City VS West Ham - 04/05/2019

On Saturday 4th May we had the exciting opportunity of going to Wembley stadium with a group of 15 students from years 8-10 to watch the women's Fa cup final. Thank you to Mrs Cuke for driving the minibus and for Mr Barker and Mr Brookland for coming along to make this trip happen.

For many of us, it was our first time visiting Wembley park which was a very exciting experience. Once we had sat down with our fish and chips, we were buzzing for the match to start; the majority of us rooting for the underdogs; West Ham.

The whistle blew at 17:30 prompt and the intense 90 minutes lay ahead of both teams. City started with a strong attack making lots of strong and short passes and attempting to run the ball down the line. Luckily West Ham had a strong back line defence and stopped many of the chances that Man City had in the first half of the game. West Ham had some strong runs up the line; Lehmann tries to hit a shot.

Straight into the second half City are showing endurance and are taking control of the game, a very tired West Ham tries to gain possession. West Ham let through a cracking goal from Walsh, laying the foundations for their victory. The warriors, West Ham battle extremely hard though missing there chances in the second half. West Ham conceded another two goals Stanway in the 81st minute and Hemp in the 88th minute. The final whistle blew after a great 90 minutes of excellent football. A well-deserved win for Manchester City!

Thank you to Mrs Cuke and The team of sport ambassadors for making the trip happen, we all had an enjoyable experience and hope for more trips like this to happen in the future.
